Enrichment
Curriculum Enrichment
Our curriculum extends beyond the National Curriculum and includes a wide range of enriching experiences and opportunities both within and beyond the school day. This will include an extensive programme of after-school clubs that support the core curriculum offer.
In addition to our exciting and stimulating themes, we will also provide further opportunities to enhance children’s learning.
Whole School Theme Days/Weeks
Throughout the year, themed days/weeks are woven into the curriculum to extend the breadth and balance of opportunities we offer our pupils. For example: Anti-bullying Week and Safety Day, Creative Arts Week, Black History Day, Sport & Health Week, Mini-enterprise Week.
Educational Visits and Residentials
Trips include class visits, visitors into school and residential are aimed at bringing learning alive and providing first-hand experience. This is further enhanced by the trust pledge.
The Cambrian Learning Trust Pledge
The Trust has undertaken to offer every learner a broad range of exciting educational opportunities throughout their time at school, from Early years to Sixth Form.
This is made possible through working together and our collective determination that every Cambrian Learning Trust school is a great school to choose for its provision of excellent opportunities and outcomes for your child.
The infographic below outlines the vast menu of enrichment possibilities available throughout their educational journey.
The VaT Awards
We want all pupils to recognise that they can positively influence their own lives and those of others around them. Through our Character and Citizenship Awards, all pupils are encouraged to engage with the full range of opportunities provided by the curriculum and our enrichment offer so that they leave as well-rounded individuals with the confidence, attitudes and values needed for their future roles in society.
These awards have been extensively planned and developed with our primary schools.
These awards have been designed with the following core principles at their heart:
- All pupils will be involved and supported to succeed
- The awards will support the personal development of all pupils
- The awards will be promoted in schools to raise aspiration and recognition of success across the Trust
- We will work in partnership with like-minded community organisations to make the awards highly prestigious.
