At St John’s CE Academy, we are committed to creating a safe, kind and respectful environment where every child feels valued, included and able to thrive. Everyone has the right to feel safe all of the time, and bullying of any kind is not tolerated.
“Bullying is the repetitive, intentional hurting of one person or group by another person or group, where the relationship involves an imbalance of power. It can happen face-to-face and online.”
Anti-Bullying Alliance
We work proactively to prevent bullying through our curriculum, assemblies, tutor time, pastoral support and by promoting our shared values of respect, kindness and courage. We also encourage courageous advocacy, empowering pupils to speak up, support others, challenge unkindness and help build a culture where everyone belongs.
All concerns are taken seriously and responded to promptly, fairly and sensitively. We work closely with pupils, families and staff to investigate concerns, provide support and ensure appropriate next steps are taken.
If you have any concerns about bullying, please contact your child’s tutor or the school enquiries email in the first instance, we will work with relevant staff and escalate the matter where appropriate.
