Courage

‘Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid’  (John 14:17)

The history of Christianity is rich in stories of courage and endurance from the Bible to the present day. Living with courage may mean sacrificing wealth, plans and ambitions in order to follow the path that God wills for them. Courage is also about a life-long process of challenging ourselves to be the best that we can be – even when times are hard.

For our children, this means having the courage to:

  • say ‘no’ when others want you to do something you do not want to do
  • be brave, take risks, try out new ideas and be resilient when faced with challenges
  • make mistakes and see them as part of learning
  • stand by your beliefs and support others
  • overcome barriers to learning that prevent you from being the best version of you
  • be ambitious in your aspirations
